Thank you for this revealing look at why conservatives continue to lose the culture wars.

The Right's "talent" isn't comedy, humor, fiction, poetry, sculpture, or painting. It's like the line from Mel Brooks' "The Producers", "Churchill, Churchill, Churchill. He was no painter. The Fuhrer, he could paint, two coats in one afternoon!"

The right has no sympathy, no empathy, no emotions except fear and no truth to tell. No wonder they prefer to censor than to attempt to explain their hate.

I'm not saying anything new, but the Right is not fun. They have a poor sense of humor. They can't laugh at themselves, but they elect clowns that we all laugh at.

I never knew what that dagger meant. Question: Is the NYT still the number one authority on books?

It's very clear that what's popular is not necessarily an indication of talent in books, music, podcasters or anything else. It just indicates a fad or trend.
