Last month, workers at the University of California went on strike for Palestine. Their demands included reinstatement of the students arrested at the campus encampment and disclosure of UC investments in companies profiting from Israeli imperialism, along with other issues.

There’s been a lot of confusion about this strike and its purpose, so I sat down with David, one of the striking workers, to talk through the details. We discuss the motivation to strike, how the genocide of Gaza relates to the American workplace, and what you can do to help Palestine (and feel more sane).
