I loved the Expanse. I pretty much agree with you. The authors of the books had the stipulation that the cast had to be multicultural before they agreed to sell the rights. That reminds me I have to finish reading the series.

It's so good! I just finished Babylon Ashes, and have hesitated to go back because I don't want it to be over. Lol

Great article. It is an interesting mix of issues; as you say, race, sex and ethnic background seems not to matter, but being from Mars, the Belt or Earth sure does. If find it interesting that we got so accepting in one sense and not the other. I think that is the fiction part.

I think that was the author's goal, to show that skin colour takes a backseat when we're dealing with a different empire with different goals. If we look back on our history we can see the same when countries had stronger borders and the "us versus them" was related to nationals vs foreigners.

I really enjoy the show and how it dealt with all of the tech parts and also the dynamics of humanity.

Definitely! It's very interesting how the author/writers chose to create a world where bigotry and hate are still present, just for different reasons.

I really hope the show gets picked up again so we can see more of this universe.

Kind of makes me sad that even in The Expanse people can't get along.
