My latest freelance piece is on the fascist nature of the Republican Party. At the state, local, and federal levels, the GOP has followed the 14 points of fascism laid out in Umberto Eco’s essay, “Ur-Fascism,” including but not limited to selective populism, life as permanent warfare, and the rejection of modernism.
