I suspect that Biden keeps funding โIsraelโ for his own political aims, I.e. because he thinks that the American electorate want this. Heโs stuck in the 1970s, along with his politics. Satanyahu knows that the minute the war ends, he will face trial for multiple counts of corruption. His sole interest in pursuing this war has been to avoid this. Wow; that is such a blinkered view, itโs quite terrifying. I read here, I think on Caitlin Johnstoneโs page, that America is โthe most propagandised nation in the worldโ. From what youโre saying, that seems to ring true. Years and years ago, I had a boyfriend who had been married previously to an American lady. He told me that when he went there to visit his daughter (and ex-wife) he would be amazed at how parochial the TV news was. They lived in Minneapolis. What he said about the TV news is, I suspected was true for a lot of American news programmes. He said that the news bulletins concentrated on the local news first, then the national and finally the international news. That would explain a lot about the shaping of the American consciousness. Also, our newspapers are pretty bad here - to the extent that I will look at European news programmes and newspapers (I can understand a little French) to get a better view of what is really going on in the world. I think that the situation is worse in America; the old joke is that America started wars to teach its citizens geography - although I donโt know how successful thatโs been. The Chinese state most probably isnโt an entirely benevolent entity, but I think that American opposition to it might be because the old US Empire is on its last legs, and is resentful at the rise of a new power. There is suspicion here too about China and itโs motives. The difficulty is that we canโt trust any state to tell us the truth about what is really going on and why, so have to make our own judgements.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! We know Israel had advanced warning of 10/7. I'm not sure if they let it happen, or if their racism just convinced them that Palestinians could never pull it off. Regardless, it reminds me of 9/11. There's plenty of craziness around "who knee what," but the really evil is how they responded and used it.

I think you're probably right. They think the younger Americans sympathy for Palestine comes from "Chinese propaganda," as opposed to just seeing it.
