Top Posts from July
This month’s most-read post was Dream Jobs for All. I’ve removed it from behind the paywall, so if you haven’t yet I suggest you give it a read. (TLDR: Everyone can have a great job, just not under Capitalism.)
Worth a Read
As I finished book nine of The Expanse series, I wrote a quick review of the series (below) as a whole. If you’ve yet to, I suggest you dive into The Expanse with book one, Leviathan Wakes.
Worth a Listen
I went on the Cars & Commrades podcast to discuss how the U.S. should ideally approach public transportation, both at a macro (nationalize airlines) and micro (electric vehicles) level. I also attempted (and failed) to talk about cars, a subject I have little knowledge of. It was a fun conversation, so give it a listen and follow Cars & Comrades!
Worth a Look
This is a bit different of a recommendation, but I’m going to suggest you start watching Major League Baseball. If you’re unaware, the league imposed some rule changes to speed the game up, and the result is a much better product.
If you need more convincing,
recently wrote about how the game has improved.Badass of the Month
July’s Badass of the Month Award goes to the thousands of UPS Teamsters who stood up to their bosses and showed them they were ready to strike. By standing together, these workers were able to get their bosses to a tentative deal, which will be voted on shortly.
Here’s a video I took during a Teamster-led practice picket a few weeks ago.

This month’s top comment comes from
who gave me a great suggestion for an upcoming article.“What are your top 5 sci-fi shows? Maybe this works better as a Note or something, but I'm curious regardless.”
Thanks for the great suggestion, and enjoy your free month of premium access!

Just to push the conversation forward on the sci-fi show thing: I really, really liked season one of Severance, and I think it counts. I'm not sure if I should throw it in there before it's complete, though.
