To those in power it’s all just a chess game & we’re the pawns. Politicians need to pretend they work for us as individuals to get our votes but their policies are for making money & making “the world go round”.
It gets even more convoluted and surreal when you add in that the attacks were largely a response to the US unequivocal support of Israel. The following is from Sept 2009:
Bin Laden urges Americans to pressure White House leaders to cease the wars and US support to Israel, rather than succumb to what he called "the ideological terrorism" exercised by neo-conservatives.
"The bitter truth is that the neo-conservatives continue to cast their heavy shadows upon you," he insisted.
I remember a few months ago when Bin Laden's letter to America re-circulated. Obviously, he's a monster, but his criticism of US's support for Israel resonated with a lot of people.
It raises a good issue Americans seldom think about: how our government's imperialism makes us a target. Not justifying it, just calling it to attention.
Obviously I'm not a fan of killing civilians here or anywhere by any group whether it be by our military, the IDF, Al Queda, or anyone else. But just as I don't think it's fair to act as if 10/07 happened in a vacuum, it's not fair or even rational for us to behave as if anything happens in a vacuum, not least in our lifetimes nor the lifetimes of all our ancestors. The West in general and the US specifically has invested far too much in discouraging and discounting any examination of its own history and they've been by and large incredibly successful. It's truly going to be the end of all of us if we can't find a way to face every truth, stare it down, and create something fair for each of us.
It’s a classic thing for authority figures to act as if the motives of those who attack them are either unknown, impossible to decipher, or completely irrational.
Likewise, not saying violence is good but even someone like the Unabomber had a point. He shouldn’t have blown up a government building, but a lot of his concerns were valid and a lot of his predictions came true. He was desperate and maybe a little crazy, but he wasn’t stupid.
Well said. Post 9/11, the attackers' motivation was boiled down to "they hate our freedom." Through that lens, we'll never understand the rationale and will only make uninformed mistakes going forward.
“It gets even more convoluted and surreal when you add in that the attacks were largely a response to the US unequivocal support of Israel” - which in turn begs the question: what’s in the post, regarding America’s current unequivocal support for Israel?
I'm guessing it's an ouroboros of misdirected, unnecessary, permanent warfare along with the slaughter of innocent civilians (collateral damage when it's "ours", "terrorism" when it's "theirs". Or vice versa. Forever.
There's been a lot of circumstantial evidence indicating their involvement, even back in 2001. In my opinion, the established fact that Al-Bayoui was a paid Saudi intelligence asset moved the needle from circumstantial/plausible to definitive.
'...every act of “national security” done since 2001 wasn’t a well-intentioned program, but a criminal conspiracy.'
Independent journalists must continue to highlight what really happened behind the scenes to the public, instead of just having mainstream narratives as their main source of information.
The average citizens must know their political system's criminal acts and their crucial role in this tragedy.
It's telling how far the government goes to hide our imperialism from us. I believe if Americans fully knew and realized how far our government goes, they'd implore it to stop.
In any case, with the oversight / permission of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. Both knew that planes were heading towards the Pentagon and Washington, well in advance. I speak of the day 911 happened. The article is totally inconsequential rabble rouse, especially when there is mountains of peer-reviewed literature, about the Nexus between the US State, Saudi Arabia, CIA, FBI, COINTELPRO and American president.
Read my most recent novel CRAY CRAY NAYSHUN. I wrote what I believe happened on 9/11 into Chapter One where the main character, the comedian Barry Wild, is accosted by a conspiracist at a cocktail party.

I wonder which Saudis had a CIA handler. Oops, national security. Sorry, NSA if I violated the PATRIOT ACT.

The old evidence also indicated that Saudi Arabia did 9/11.
