My husband and I talk about this a lot. He feels that the NBA is leading the way on social justice issues and programs that support the community.

Definitely! I think the NBA players have been crucial in centering the conversation of social justice. Imagine if they went a step further!

It didn't work out so well for Kaepernick. Not helping LeBron's rep, either.

Kaepernick certainly lost his career because of his beliefs, but I don't think that's a reason not to do it. I also think things are much different post-2020, i.e. Goodell saying "we owe Colin an apology."

Some people are willing to put it all on the line and he did. He stood for something bigger and has had many other opportunities outside sports.
