It IS terrible, but only if you’re not:

White

Male

Rich

Borderline illiterate

Living (literally and spiritually) in 1624

Take comfort in the fact that those guys are doing just fine.

Getting what you vote for can really suck sometimes. Seems to be THE lesson of 2025.

Stop blaming the voters. They didn't vote to let their children drown. The system is rigged against us. Always has been. The ruling class doesn't give a fuck about us. The US has never been a democracy. It's always been a fascist state. Do you really think genocidal enslavers would create a "democracy?" 🤣

Great article spelling out the atrocities of conservative leadership. In addition Texas has one of the worst histories of managing health care especially for children. The director of the Mystic Camp received information about probable flooding an hour before and did not evacuate to higher ground. He lost his life as well, but still bears the responsibility of the little girls who did so also.🙏🏻. Why are we so reckless to allow building in flood zones. This was allowed in Houston and Katrina took its toll there too. Happening in other states as Fl too.

I want to say “Make Texas Mexico Again” but we wouldn’t be sending our best.

Yep. I spent ages 0-24 in the "great" state of Texas. There are wonderful people living there, just unfortunately not enough of them. Also, counterpoint to the abundance bros, the reason housing is easier in Texas is bc there is so much god damn LAND. It's easy to just keep building out when there aren't many mountains/coast/deserts in the way (obviously excluding west Texas and the panhandle, but if u look at pop density map of the state you'll see what I mean)

Excellent. I actively root for the destruction of Texas and care less about the citizens who voted for “mah fredums” over their children’s safety. May natural section give them everything they voted for.
