"The Case for Economic Democracy" Finale + What Do You Want Next?
What to expect on publication, and an open call for reader feedback.
Last Friday I published the concluding chapter of my new book, The Case for Economic Democracy. Entitled “The S Word,” this chapter explains that the book’s argument for a democratized economy is actually the core of Socialism.
If you’re unaware, I’ve been releasing segments of the book every Friday for premium subscribers. (If you’d like to check it out, I suggest you start with the introduction.) As the feedback has been positive and the metrics have been higher than I hoped, I can tell there’s been solid reader interest, so I wanted to share my plans for what will happen to the book next.
I’m currently actioning all the feedback I’ve received from JoeWrote readers. I have a few pitches out to potential agents, and I have a good feeling we’ll be able to move forward with bringing it to a publisher— a big thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts privately or in the comments. Your insights on what worked well and what needed improving are helping me polish and lengthen. I’m not sure what the final book will look like or when it will be available, but I can say that it is already significantly more in-depth and, in my very-biased opinion, much better. I’ll be sure to share any developments about the publishing process with you and will make a big fuss when the book is available for order.
In the meantime, if you’d like to read the first iteration of The Case for Economic Democracy, it will stay up on JoeWrote for premium subscribers. (Membership is just $5 a month!)
Now that the book is concluded, I have more time to craft even more content for paying subscribers. I’ve got some ideas for activist interviews, long-form investigations, more roasts of political figures like our Dave Rubin series, and other fun topics, but I’d like to hear from you about what you’d appreciate most. Please share your content wishlist in the comments. Your suggestions ensure I’m producing the stories and articles you want!
And thanks again to everyone who read and provided feedback on The Case for Economic Democracy. You helped write a damn fine book, if I do say so myself.
Hi Joe.. Are you not releasing a traditional book as a sign of protest or something?
Would love to read this on Kindle.
Hi Joe, is there a place where people with paid membership can download your book in a pdf file format?
