DSA is winning big elections, socialist membership is growing, and our ideas are more popular than ever. The American left is no longer a marginal force.
I love that socialism is finally starting to be socially acceptable 😎But they have to govern well and reach out to other factions . They should caucus with the democrats and be good at governing, especially providing public safety and border security . They should look at the unpopularity of other urban leaders who don’t provide it like in Chicago and San Francisco because people want low crime and homelessness and a a sane immigration policy. Can the DSA do it? We will see.
There's no shortage of challenges, that's for sure. And governing comes with a new set that the left will have to learn to navigate. It won't be as perfect or clean as campaigning, and I imagine that will come with growing pains, as you mentioned.
