You left out the part of his response to having Tisch report to a deputy mayor that it referred to everyday stuff that didn’t require his input. In that light, it’s actually common sense.

Joe Wrote's avatar

That makes a lot of sense.

It did to me when he said it.

We are all hoping he succeeds!

thx for writing this. let's remember too that socialism is a collective project and process. we must each of play our part, however seemingly modest. 'from each according to their ability...'

Very well put!

I just want to point out that the woman in that photo in the white shirt is wearing an ICE hat. I'm assuming that's ICE as in the branch of DHS, and not the merch of a Vanilla Ice fan.

Not sure if it's just coincidence, but her right hand seems to be subtlety giving the middle finger.

Joe Wrote's avatar

It is a DHS ICE hat. That's the group Betar. They're very proud of their fascist credentials.

Wonderful article and well done, you. Betar doesn't just encourage Jews, its Zionist Jews, either Israel Firsters or Pro Israel. They can be violent. We have a country where our consitution, clearly has a amendment about free speech and they not only want to silence a segment of our population, but they are. All of the Republicans in Congress are funded by AIPAC or/and other Israel Lobby's or PACS, with the exception of Thomas Massie. Dems are 90% Others haven't taken any money, yet, but do vote Pro Israel. AOC and Jasmine Crockett, to name two. They just helped pass a fast track 3.3 billion dollars and defunded UNRWRA a few days ago. Gutted, me too. I was going to vote for Jasmine in midterms. Was.

Joe Wrote's avatar

That's a great point about Betar. They violently assaulted Jews for not being Zionist enough. Also, they make no attempt to hide their violent nature. Truly sick.

Thank you, Adri!

Yeah condemnation of the people protesting illegal land sales and calling the protests antisemitic were a big miss.

We don't need Fidel Castro as mayor. Under his policies crime and homelessness will be worse. So will anti semitism. Most of his tax plan will never survive Albany. Rents will rise nothing but a nightmare

If you consider implementing socialist policies and not killing the city immediately, just slowly and over time so blame cannot be readily ascribed, then sounds like he's doing a bang up job. If you're hoping to run a business, own property, not get stabbed on the street, succeed financially, then you'll probably need to find some place else to live.

Not sure where the socialism is. Public toilets are pretty standard in most of the western world. Rent laws are pretty standard in Europe. Not so much in Australia as it has eaten the neo liberal caterpillar.
