Good question! That the first sentence, like the ones to follow, will probably suck. 1st drafts are ALWAYS rough and shoddy, whether you're writing fiction or nonfiction.
So write the first sentence, then the second, third, and don't stop until your draft is done. Then you can go back and fret about cleaning it up
