Thanks for the review. I'll have to check them out. Believe it or not, I've never read a book series before. Unless you count the "Hardy Boys".

The Expanse might be a great series to start with! It's nine books, but the authors describe it as "three trilogies." You can read the first three and still feel like you got the full series-feel while there's still more if you'd like to continue.

Joe, I really loved the TV series. I think it's easily in the top 5 of best sci fi shows ever on TV, probably top 3. My question is: is the show mostly faithful to the books? I'm sure the books are better and much more in-depth, but I'm wondering the most about fidelity right now.

And thanks for an excellent review!

The show is actually very close to the books! They did cut some stuff and merge a few characters, just because there's not enough time for the full story on screen. It's very similar to how GOT is a faithful but condensed telling of the books. I watched the show before the books, so I'm sure you'll enjoy them!

Very nice. I really did enjoy the show.

I'd throw the Battlestar Galactica miniseries up there with this, perhaps a tiny notch higher... but not a ton else! Really fantastic show.

I was so sad when it got cancelled.

What are your top 5 sci-fi shows? Maybe this works better as a Note or something, but I'm curious regardless.

Oh, that's a great question! TBH I'm hesitant to answer here, as I think I might need a full post to detail that. Stay tuned though! I'm eager to write about that.
