Great reminders of how much control and power we all concede to corporations. Corporations as people is a ludicrous idea, and even more ludicrous is that corporations are afforded more entitlements than us lowly citizens like bailouts and no to low taxes and no jail time for their crimes.
That's a great point, Tina. Given how corporations are given personal rights ("free speech," "religious rights," etc.), AND they get bailouts and preferential treatment, its easy to see how the US government is much more interested in their welfare than that of the people.
That's very true! I remember one political commentator talking about how much more difficult it is to convey nuanced, leftist politics to a population with a short attention span. Alternatively, Conservatives have the short-but-brief "taxes are theft" which is short and easy to grasp (though in my opinion, reductive). Getting better at synthesizing our message will go a long way to helping boost the popularity of left politics.

Yes, our legislators grow rich off their alliances with corporations, opening the revolving door of favors.
Unfortunately for us, this level of understanding requires nuance. Nuance and 15 second TikTok videos don't match up all too well.

The Strongman always offers a simple solution to a vexing problem.
Very well put!
