Interestingly (or not) almost all European carriers outsource at level much higher than in the US (I'm speaking of customer facing roles here; ramp, ticket agents, etc.).

Is this in regards to European air travel? As in, they hire non-native workers to do those roles?

Sorry, that was poorly worded on my part. Yes, air travel/airlines. Not non-native (though there is some of that) so much as outsourcing work to 3rd parties or contractors.

Ah got it, thanks for clarifying. Do you think a big part of that is due to the EU? As in, workers are able to search for the best employment in the entire trade block, as opposed to just their own country (which can often be a small market). Or are European companies bringing in non-EU citizens for cheap labor?

The dynamics might be different, but ultimately it's the same race to the bottom that we see here in the US.
