Learning From The Canadian Left: NDP Elections w/ Luke Savage

A good thing happened.

With good news few and far between, we have to cross borders just to find something to celebrate. JoeWrote’s Senior Canadian correspondent Luke Savage joins us to discuss Avi Lewis’ election as the leader of the New Democratic Party, Canada’s largest left-wing party. As a committed socialist, Lewis’ victory shows that NDP members want the party to take a strong, unapologetic stance for democratic socialism, rather than promoting a tepid form of regulated capitalism.

Luke and I discuss the election, the Canadian media’s freakout, and how the country is reacting to America’s war on Iran. Check out Luke’s articles on the NDP below.
